Liceul Tehnologic PetricaniLiceul Tehnologic Petricani was founded in 1859. In 1978 it became a School of Arts and Trades and, in 2010 it become a technological high-school. It is located in Petricani, Neamt County, NE Romania. The institution is currently providing education services to approximately 800 students, from pre-primary level up to the higher secondary level, with a total of 70 teachers (with partial or full time contract).
Most of the students come from nearby villages, spread over a distance of 20 km and can be considered as having reduced opportunities, as they are confronting with economic and geographical obstacles. However, we are open-minded and optimistic about the development of our institution. Internationalization and long term cooperation activities have a crucial role for the organizational learning and the development of our institution. We are currently working intensively to overcome the difficulties arising from the localization of our institution in a disadvantaged area and from the social and financial context. Our European Development Plan foresees a significant increase of the quality of English language competence for our students and staff and a massive modernization and professionalization of our activity.
Since 2013, the school has been involved in 5 EU funded projects. We are currently developing transnational professional relationships with institutions from over EU countries and, due to the involvement into the projects, our local and national visibility increased significantly. The projects have been received with enthusiasm by our students and staff (Erasmus+ KA202 Strategic Partnership, Erasmus+KA1 Staff Mobility project, 2 KA1 VET Students Mobility Projects and a Comenius Bilateral Partnership under the framework of LLP Programme). The Staff Mobility Project has been indicated as a good practices model by our NA.
Our institution has also gained valuable Project Management and Quality Assurance experience due to the participation of 10 of our members of our staff in international training activities on topics such as internationalization, project writing, project management, education good practices benchmarking, English language fluency development, intercultural communication and ICT for education.
Also, during the last years, our school gained valuable experience into the field of project management (all phases from), quality assurance, coordinating of intellectual outputs development (planning, testing, quality assurance, evaluation, delivery). |
